A Ghanaian boy has been knifed to death on his 16th birthday on board a bus in London.
Derek Boeteng, a Ghanaian born British from Hackney, was attacked on board a 393 bus close to the gates of Highbury Grove School in Islington in an alleged ambush involving pupils from a rival school.
He was treated at the scene before he was airlifted to hospital where he was reported to be in a critical but stable condition. He died the following day (April 24).
A 15-year-old boy will appear in court today (April 26) charged with the murder of the schoolboy.
The unnamed teen was arrested on the day of the attack in Highbury, north London, on Tuesday (April 23) and has remained in police custody since.
